What is a telescopic cantilever rack?
A telescopic cantilever rack (also called roll-out or slide-out cantilever rack) is an industrial storage system where the horizontal arms can extend outward from the rack structure, exposing stored materials for overhead crane access. Unlike traditional fixed cantilever racks that require forklifts, telescopic racks enable crane-direct material handling, eliminating double-handling and dramatically improving efficiency.
What is the difference between TC Series and TE Series?
TC Series (welded type) features fully welded construction with X-type cross bracing — maximum rigidity, minimal on-site assembly, but width limited to ~2,300mm by shipping container dimensions. TE Series (assembled type) uses bolt-together construction with horizontal bracing — unlimited width capability, flat-pack shipping for lower freight costs, but requires on-site assembly. Choose TC for standard heavy-duty applications, TE for wide materials or overseas projects where shipping cost matters.
How much weight can each arm hold?
Arm load capacity ranges from 500 kg to 5,000 kg depending on the model, arm length, and configuration. Standard models: TC-1000 (1 ton/arm), TC-2000 (2 tons/arm), TC-3000 (3 tons/arm), TC-5000 (5 tons/arm). Capacity decreases with longer arm lengths. See our TC Series specifications and TE Series specifications for detailed load charts.
Do I need an overhead crane to use these racks?
Yes, telescopic cantilever racks are designed specifically for overhead crane operations. The rack arms extend into the crane’s working zone, allowing direct material pickup without forklifts. You need a bridge crane, gantry crane, or jib crane with sufficient capacity and hook height to clear the top arm level plus a 500mm safety margin.
Can one person operate the rack?
Yes. The gear reduction mechanism (1:40 to 1:60 ratio) allows a single operator to extend arms loaded with several tons of material using the manual crank handle. Typical operating force is 5-15 kg on the handle. Motorized versions require even less effort — just push a button or use the wireless remote control.
How long does installation take?
TC Series (welded): 1-3 days for a typical 4-8 bay system. Racks arrive pre-assembled; only anchoring and alignment needed. TE Series (assembled): 3-7 days for the same size system due to on-site bolt assembly. We provide detailed installation drawings and can supervise installation remotely via video call or send our team on-site.
What floor requirements are needed?
Reinforced concrete floor, minimum 150mm thickness, 25 MPa compressive strength. Floor flatness: ≤3mm per meter in the installation zone. Anchoring: M20 chemical anchor bolts, 4 per base plate, 150mm embedment depth. We can assess your floor suitability from core sample data or on-site inspection.
How much does a telescopic rack system cost?
Pricing depends on configuration (model, size, number of bays, drive type, surface treatment). A typical 4-bay TC-2000 system with manual drive starts around $15,000-25,000 FOB. Motorized systems add $800-2,500 per bay. TE Series is typically 10-20% more due to additional hardware. Contact us for a detailed quote based on your requirements.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship to 50+ countries worldwide. TC Series ships as pre-assembled units in standard 40ft containers. TE Series ships flat-packed with 85-95% container utilization. We handle export documentation, container loading supervision, and can arrange door-to-door delivery. See our shipping guide for details.
What maintenance is required?
Minimal maintenance: chain lubrication every 3 months (or 500 cycles), visual inspection of guide rollers and safety locks monthly, annual structural inspection. Motorized systems need annual motor and VFD inspection. See our maintenance guide for complete checklists.
What is the warranty?
Standard warranty: 3 years on structural components (uprights, arms, bracing), 2 years on mechanical components (chain, gears, rollers), 1 year on electrical components (motors, VFDs, controls). Extended warranty available. See our warranty page for full details.
Can racks be relocated after installation?
Yes. TC Series racks can be unbolted from the floor and moved as complete units (requires crane). TE Series can be disassembled into components for relocation. Floor anchor holes will need patching at the old location and new anchors at the new location.
