Stop answering questions nobody is asking
The FAQ section on an export site is usually an afterthought. It’s filled with useless filler like, “Do you have a factory?” or “What is your mission statement?”
A buyer thousands of miles away does not care about your mission statement. They care about their supply chain collapsing because you screw up.
The Pre-emptive Strike FAQ
A great FAQ page anticipates the buyer’s worst fears and answers them directly.
Fear 1: Assembly Line Stoppage.
Don’t ask: “What is your lead time?”
Ask: “What happens if a shipment is delayed at customs?” Then explain your exact buffer stock policy and expediting procedures.
Fear 2: Hidden Costs.
Don’t ask: “How much does it cost?”
Ask: “Do tooling modifications incur extra charges after the first prototype?” Then detail your exact pricing thresholds for engineering changes.
Fear 3: Intellectual Property Theft.
Ask: “How do you protect my CAD files?” Then detail your segregated server infrastructure and NDAs. Don’t hide from the stigma of overseas manufacturing. Attack it directly by proving your safeguards.
Answering the hardest questions makes the easy questions irrelevant.
