AI Search Bypasses Your Site Because It Can’t Read Your Structure

AI Doesn’t See Web Pages Like Humans Do

An overseas buyer searches “stainless steel valve manufacturer China” on Perplexity. The AI scans dozens of websites and synthesizes the most relevant data into a direct answer.

If your homepage features a full-width background image with “Your Trusted Partner” in fancy fonts, the AI sees a nearly blank page. It cannot read text locked inside images, and generic advertising slogans provide zero data.

What Information Architecture Means

It is simply how your content is organized. It involves where information is placed, what tags are used, and the hierarchy.

If your product page has an H2 heading labeled “Application Industries,” followed by paragraphs for food, pharmaceutical, and chemical sectors, AI clearly extracts this data. If the same information is buried inside a rotating carousel or a massive block of unformatted text, AI fails to extract it.

Required Adjustments

Move core information out of images and into readable HTML text. Give critical content clear heading hierarchies. Product pages need explicit subheadings like “Applicable Industries,” “Core Parameters,” and “Delivery Capacity.” Case study pages must follow a uniform structure: Client Industry, Requirement, Solution, and Result.

These adjustments do not require redesigning or rebuilding the site. You only need to reorganize existing information so machines can read it.
